The best restaurant we have been to in forever.
Cost 123.00 plus 30 dollar tip. So about 155.00ish dollars. With a 10 percent off entire meal coupon.
We made the mistake of each ordering the Friday special, 3 lb crab leg dinner, came with a salad, 12 large clusters of snow crab, 2 sides, and 2 humongous hush puppies.
I mean this is owned by Billy Gail's, so we should of known better! It was so, so, so much food. We could of easily shared one meal and still been incredibly stuffed.
Vince also bought the Reeses Cheesecake.
The salad was average, iceberg, a slice of cucumber, some shredded cheese. I can't remember if it had a tomato, but I don't think it did the cucumber was really good though. And my favorite part or the salad was home made buttery perfectly toasted croutons.
The main dish we had was the 3 lbs of snow crab. They were lightly seasoned with old bay. I am not a fan of Old Bay, as it overpowers the sweet delicate flavor of the crab to me. But, since it was so lightly sprinkled, I easily wiped off the Old Bay seasoning, using the paper towels on the table. And was no problem getting enough off to not even taste any remnants of Old Bay left. It cane with a huge side of melted butter, the real stuff, not the gross butter flavored oil many restaurants serve today.
There were really good sides to choose from, I knew I wanted a loaded potato. So that was one of my sides it was amazing. Perfectly cooked nit burned or undercooked. The sour cream was rich and thick, I haven't had this quality of sour cream at a restaurant since I was a kid and even then it was only at a local restaurant called, Savages. The butter, was also good quality. Real bacon, which is a must for me and green onions. The cheese was the pteshredded kind, but with the quality of everything else with this potato, that was not a big deal.
To be healthy I was going to choose steamed broccoli but, when I asked the waitress about the baked beans, she said she would get the baked beans over broccoli and really talked them up. So I also ordered the baked beans as my second side choice. It was a excellent choice. Very good flavor a mixture of different beans, nicely sauced, and seasoned, not overly spiced, nor spicy hot, and what completely took it up to above and beyond, it had a lot of meat also added to it.
Vince ordered Loaded Mashed Potatoes that was also just as loaded and yummy as the loaded baked potato. And Okra. The okra I don't think was hand breaded but it was about the same as Lambert's.
The meals also came with two humongous hush puppies. Big enough to be extremely large chicken legs.
Then desserts. The desserts all sounded and looked extremely good. Especially the lemon blueberry cake. Vince bought the Reeses Peanut Butter Cup Cheesecake. It was delicious. Extremely flavorful, rich and decadent. So thick and creamy. You could tell it was homemade without fake corn syrup or a bunch of fillers. It was the best restaurant dessert I ever had. Much better than Cheesecake Factory.
